Director Mahendran (79), known for his clbadic films such as Mullum Malarum, Johny, Uthiri Pookal and Nenjathai Killathey, to name just a few, died earlier this morning. He had died in a hospital in Chennai.
Last week, the director was admitted to the hospital after health problems. He was about to recover, but unfortunately he died today. The director had also played in movies recently and was seen at Theri and Petta.
A public tribute will be held at his residence in Pallikaranai and a cremation will be organized tonight. Mahendran was last seen on the screen during a special appearance in Atharvaa starrer Boomerang.
