When Xiaomi announced its flagship models of the Mi series 2018 on May 31, the company proposed a surprise package by announcing the Mi 8 Explorer edition. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition comes with a nice translucent glbad bottom and a more powerful hardware configuration than the usual Mi 8 model. This proves to be a regular event for Xiaomi whose high-end or custom models are hard to find. We clearly remember the Silver variant of the Mi 6 which was almost unavailable for purchase due to the cumbersome production process and electroplating. However, there are indications that Xiaomi will soon bring the device into play in China. A poster teases the Mi 8 Explorer Edition appeared recently on Weibo and she points to an exit on July 24th. The device will be available for 3,699 yuan (~ $ 552). It is probably still a little while before the device becomes available outside of China.

Among its features is distinguished by a translucent glbad back that shows the internal components in a beautiful way. The device does not have a fingerprint sensor instead, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition has a fingerprint reader on the screen that allows users to unlock the phone just touch. The screen is equipped with a very sensitive pressure sensor, so with a slight touch, the fingerprint is scanned and the device unlocked. The device supports face recognition and also on board is a Snapdragon 845 chipset.
