Unpacking the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite

[ad_1]

We have the latest Xiaomi phones, the Mi 8 Pro and the Mi 8. Lite.

The Mi 8 Pro is one of Xiaomi's flagship smartphones this year, while the Mi 8 is a mid-range phone. his back is really shiny and his two-tone gradient finish

We had the chance to learn with both phones earlier this month at a launch event in Hong Kong. This time, we spent more time with them trying the integrated fingerprint sensor on the Mi 8 Pro screen. We also like something about the Mi 8 Lite, cheaper: the gradient pattern on the back. However, the glossy glbad surface of the Mi 8 Lite appears to be a fingerprint magnet covered with all traces of grease.

A cool element about the Mi 8 Pro is its transparent back. But do not expect to see real internal parts here. What you see is that a fake panel with plastic parts. And while both phones display a rear window, they do not support wireless charging.

Both phones have a screen with notches. The Mi 8 Pro has a wider notch than the Mi 8 Lite, containing more sensors to support the unlocking of infrared faces – and not the more secure facial recognition found on the iPhone X or the Oppo Find X. The fingerprint scanner Mi 8 Pro, but the installation is not easy. We took longer than other phones to record our fingerprint and sometimes had to press harder to unlock it.

In the box for both phones, you get a free case – but it is really flexible and does not really protect the phone. There is also a 3.5mm USB-C headphone jack adapter, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a 5W AC adapter, and a SIM eject tool. The Mi 8 Pro's case looks chic with its black and gold finishes, while the Mi 8 Lite case has a very nice gradient work.

We are working on a revision of the two phones, stay tuned!
