Vikas Gupta about his disqualification of Khatron Ke Khiladi 9: It was an honest mistake

Were you disappointed after being ousted from Khatron Ke Khiladi 9?

It was a fair decision. If anyone followed my path through Bigg Boss, I had a recurring shoulder injury. And without informing the team, I was taking painkillers for the same thing. The drugs caused an acceleration of my heart rate and I put myself in danger while performing acrobatics. It was an honest mistake because I did not know about the repercussion. I did not know that I was putting myself in danger. Yes, I was completely helpless because I was doing well and I could have reached the final. But if you are wrong, the end result will be bad. I accepted the decision knowing that I was at fault.

But what was your experience in the series? And did you manage to fight your fears?

It was an experience of a lifetime, but something I will never repeat (laughs). When I attended the show, I had three phobias: darkness, animals, and water. I managed to solve my problems with the darkness and now, I even talk to animals. But with water, the phobia remains. I managed to do the work of the water but it always gives me nightmares.

Many believe that Khatron Ke Khiladi is a matter of mental toughness. Since you are nicknamed Mastermind, has it been really easy in the series?

I think it's a very bad badumption. In addition to mental strength, you have to be physically fit. Even in the smallest of tasks, you have to have the power to do it. Although you can maintain your calm, what will you do if your body gives up? For my part, because of my shoulder injury, I can not work or develop my muscles. I could have given me a year more to get ready but I just did not want to lose the opportunity.

Your web series produced Puncch Beat is also doing very well. How confident are you?

I work really hard to find a balance between the mind and the heart. I will never take my audience for granted. If you work hard, you know it will work. In addition, I find it sad that there is not much content for young people, especially between 13 and 18 years old. And they are such an important audience that you can shape their minds through shows. It's a big responsibility, but I like doing shows for them.

You also seem to have become a mentor to many young actors …

It's never hard to find talent, but you have to keep turning with them afterwards. they have become stars, it is difficult. Once they become popular, their priorities change. I sometimes have the feeling that, in addition to stars, I also create monsters (laughs). There are so many talents in the area but you can not choose the bad ones.

How was the experience of working behind the camera after an interruption?

It was quite difficult and physically exhausting. I have not been doing this for a very long time. But now, I deliberately decided to take time to concentrate on writing, directing and directing. In addition, the second season of Ace of Space could also happen this year.
