Volvo had launched their entry-level SUV, the XC40 R-Design, on July 4, earlier this month, for a price of Rs 39.9 lakh. In less than two weeks of its launch, the first batch of 200 units of the XC40 was sold, which prompted Volvo to launch more variants of the XC40.
Volvo launched the entry-level trim called Momentum for a price tag of Rs 39.9 lakh ex-showroom, India. R-Design has now become the mid-level variant and gets a new price tag of Rs 42.9 lakh while the high-level listing is priced at Rs 43.9 lakh.
The R-Design is already equipped with the 9-inch touch screen, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio unit, front-seat power, ventilated seats and leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof and electric tailgate. The listing gets a more whimsical grille, a more alloy wheel design, more chrome on the outside, driftwood inlays in the cabin, and electrically folding rear seats as well.
The Momentum loses on the amateur stuff but gets the command infotainment system, panoramic sunroof and full safety net. The powertrain includes the 187 hp diesel engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive remains standard.
