Wipro Q2 result: Wipro Q2 profit drops 14% YoY to 1,889 crore, missing Street estimate

Wipro announced Wednesday a 13.81% year-over-year decline in profit for the September quarter of 1889 crore rupees, a figure lower than the 1,962 crore badysts projected in the ETW Now poll.

The computer major had reported a profit of 2,191.80 rupees in the same quarter of last year.

The company's net sales increased by 8.32 percent to 14 541 crores of rupees, compared with 13423.40 crores of rupees in the corresponding quarter of last year.

On a sequential basis, computer services revenues increased 4.9 percent to 14,377 crore rupees, compared with 13,700 rupees in June.

For the information technology sector, Ebit fell to Rs. 2,100 crore in July-September, compared with 2,397 crores in April-June. The margin of 14.4% in the second quarter was less than 17.4% in the first quarter.
