YouTube can present its own "Explore Tab" – another example of a giant technology platform putting AI to use, adapting what we see based on our past clicks.

YouTube is back to the test, experimenting with a new feature on a small group of its users. The last time he experimented in this way, this caused a backlash from the creative community because of a "lack of communication," a problem that has since been addressed in an article CEO Susan Wojcicki. This time, the company took a slightly different approach, communicating its plans for a new "Explore" tab across different social media channels.

The new & # 39; Explore Tab & # 39; was deployed on Monday for 1% of iPhone users, replacing the 'Trending' section. As with the Instagram tab, this space hopes to introduce users to new channels, topics or creators based on what they've already watched. This may look like the "Home" tab, but that's where the previously viewed material is displayed, rather than custom recommendations.

The feature is explained on Creator Insider, an informal channel launched by YouTube employees. Wojcicki notes that it is here that the team can publish weekly updates and address concerns, while "providing a more in-depth glimpse of some of its product launches." It remains to be seen if it will never be rolled out globally; for the moment it remains an experience.
