The Cleveland Indians have recalled the right-handed Adam Plutko the team announced. Jon Edwards has been opted for Triple-A to make room on the list.

The two pitchers have been arguing lately, Plutko being ready for his second stint with the league's big club. He went 1-1 with an ERA 6.35 on two starts before being sacked on May 25th. He took the win with six innings of a ball against the Orioles during his first start of the season, but lost 5 1/3 innings in his next outing against Tampa Bay. Today, he faces the Yankees at home.

Edwards has only made one appearance since his last recall on June 5, removing the two Minnesota Twins he faced. The 31-year-old has nine total appearances for the Indians this year, totaling two wins at a time and a 2.25 medal.

With so many injuries among the starting staff, including the latest news from Carlos CarrascoBloody trouble, Plutko should have a real opportunity to contribute to what has been one of the most disappointing seasons of baseball. The club recently added Mitch Talbot to the minor league league, but all throwing options are improving for Cleveland. Zach Plesac earned his first career win last night against the Yankees, and he quickly claimed one of the rotating spots behind Trevor Bauer and Shane Bieberbut the injuries cut the ranks and opened the way for a person like Plutko who will try a serious race this season for the Indians.
