JawaPos.com – Former Prime Minister Najib Razak claims that the Malaysian authorities are violating his personal freedoms. According to him, when the authorities froze his bank account, it was a violation of private rights.
Najib was arrested and charged in Malaysia last week for abuse of power and corruption. The arrest was linked to the alleged transfer of 10.4 million US dollars to his personal bank account of SRC International, a former 1MDB state fund.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released after making a guarantee. Najib has always denied an error related to 1MDB.
The Malaysian KPK, which Leads the 1MDB investigation, has frozen more than 400 bank accounts last week as part of an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of the 1MDB fund, a fund institute set up by Najib.
Najib said the bank accounts of his children and grandchildren, were also frozen last week. But his account remains frozen, he said in a statement on Facebook.
Whereas, in his opinion, the account was only used to receive his salary and his public servant's pension. "It has nothing to do with issues related to investigations with the authorities," Najib said.

According to Najib, the freezing of his account made it difficult to pay bills and exercise his role as head of the family. "Like other citizens, I deserve to have access to my personal freedom until the end of my trial," he said.
The KPK of Malaysia did not respond to what Najib alleges. In addition, a 1MDB investigation is still ongoing in at least six countries, including Singapore, Switzerland and the United States, for allegations of money laundering and bribery.
