– The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, issued Presidential Instruction Number 2017 on the Community Movement for a Healthy Life (Germas), followed by the Governor's (Pergub) Central Java Regulation number 35 of 2017 on Germas.

What is Germas?

Germas is a government program that encourages people to live healthy lives by doing physical activities, eating fruits, and checking their health regularly for at least six months.

This is done to prevent various communicable diseases and noncommunicable diseases.

"Germas can be done with simple things like exercise at least 30 every day, eat vegetables and fruits every day and health checks," said the head of the province of Java Central Health Office, dr. Yulianto Prabowo, M.Kes, Thursday (26/7/2018).

The activity was conducted for the prevention of infectious and noncommunicable diseases.

One of Germas's goals in Central Java is to increase the coverage and quality of vaccination.

"Prevent infectious diseases that can be prevented early by immunization against diphtheria, meningitis, rubella, measles, hepatitis, fistula, tetanus, etc.," he added. (kin)
