New York police said two Saudi brothers whose bodies were found on the Hudson River in the heart of Manhattan, New York, appeared to have committed suicide.
According to Chief Inspector of the New York Police Department, Dermot Shea, Tala Farea (16) and Rotana Farea (23) would have preferred to commit suicide than to return to Saudi Arabia.
Shea said the two girls appeared to be "entering the water in living conditions".
The bodies of the two were found in a condition related to the anti-adhesive glue of the ankle size.
Based on videotaped evidence, eyewitnesses and credit cards used to buy food, stay in hotels and move around, the police badured that no other party was involved in the death of the two girls.
The two women have been living in America for about three years and may have been physically abused. They therefore asked for asylum.
Their family lives in the state of Virginia and met for the last time in 2017. [em]
