The dragon's fruit skin was also rich in vitamin C, E and antioxidants to nourish the skin. A group of UGM students has made the existence of dragon fruit skin very effective to be a facial mask.
Geri Malpin Saputra, Amanda Nihayatuzain, Putu Karang Adisurya, Herliana Valentia Putri, and Hanny Marlinda make a dragon skin mask. They combine the waste with corncobs as the main ingredient of a facial mask.
The product named Togamask was born from the Creativity Program for Student Entrepreneurship (PKM-K) which received DIKTI grants.
"Vitamin C in the skin of the dragon's fruit is pretty high by about 75 percent," said Geri, a ketu team, Friday (22/06/2018). Vitamin E and antioxidant content can be used to ward off free radicals and moisturize the skin.
A high content of vitamin C not only provides nutrients to the skin, but also illuminates. While the corn in this mask is turned into active charcoal.
The ears of corn are first transformed into carbon and then activated into activated charcoal powder mixed in a powder mask.
"The activated carbon is able to eliminate blackheads, clean the dirt on the face and eliminate the excessive amount of oil in the skin," Geri said.
He explains that this mask uses all natural ingredients without mixing dangerous chemicals. Mask for facial skin is priced at Rp 7,000 per fruit and can be ordered via Instagram @ togamask.
