The oldest Roman Catholic bishop charged with abolishing badual abuse of child is sentenced on Tuesday (12/07/2018) to 12 months by the Australian court .

But the court has not yet determined whether Bishop Adelaide Philip Wilson will be in prison or subject to house arrest

Newscastle jury chairman Robert Stone will decide August 14, where Wilson will serve his sentence.

Nevertheless, the judge stated that Wilson had to undergo at least six

Wilson was convicted last May for concealing a pastor's badual badault in the 1970s.

The chief priest, James Fletcher, died in prison in 2006 after being found guilty of badually abusing children in New South Wales.

Wilson's lawyers tried to have the case against the Archbishop annulled. Wilson, 67, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, but he failed.

Wilson's lawyers argued that his state of health prevented him from remembering that one of Fletcher's victims had informed him of badual harbadment in their 1976 conversation. There is evidence of such a conversation. [em/al]
