DEWA increases production targets in 2018

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) is optimistic about its activity in 2018. The subsidiary of the Bakrie Group is aiming for an increase in the production of blanket coal blanket as well as coal production this year.

Last year, the company recorded 19459005 overburden as much as 85.78 million cubic meters (bcm), up 1.7% from compared with the previous year's performance of 84.37 million bcm. Well, in 2018, the production overburden DEWA is expected to increase by 111% to 183.4 million bcm

The company also raises its coal production target from 74% to 22.3 million tonnes by the end of the year 2018. Indeed, in 2017, DEWA's coal production decreased by 15.2% to 12.77 million metric tons against 15.06 million metric tons. tons the year before.

The director of DEWA, ​​Faisal Firdaus, said that the main factor behind the decline in coal production last year was due to the production of a program of repair (fleet) . The improvement of the means of production is indeed time to do, thus causing the decrease in the number of fleets .

In the short term, this has an impact on the decline of this company's coal production. "However, now the company is optimistic about increasing its production capacity in 2018," Faisyal said Tuesday (10/7).

In addition to boosting production, the company also plans to expand its expansion to three metal mining projects. Previously, DEWA focused solely on coal operations and transportation.

But in the future, this company intends to try the metal mining sector. This is done so that the company can diversify its portfolio of lines of business.

General Secretary and CEO of DEWA Mukson Arif Rosyidi explained that three metal mines included in the DEWA radar are zinc mining in North Sumatra owned PT Dairi Prima Mineral, copper mines and gold in Gorontalo and Central Sulawesi owned by PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM).
