The former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak, has been formally arrested and will be tried tomorrow. Authorities took Najib out of his home after showing a warrant for arrest, told Reuters one of the family's closest sources
Malaysiakini, the Malaysian news website, has said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had arrested Najib at home.
Najib spokesman did not comment on any of the arrests.
Najib is still declared innocent of the use of money by the state for the Malaysia 1MDB Investment Fund project.
Since his defeat in May against Mahathir Mohamad, Najib has been banned from leaving the country. In an interview with Reuters last month, Mahathir said the embezzlement and corruption in the state's money were few among the claims made to Najib. Mahathir added that he had "an almost perfect case" against Najib.
