"Thank goodness, Citilink Airlines will fly both from Kertajati Airport via the Kertajati road to Kualanamu. the reverse will open on November 9, "said PT BIJB General Manager Virda Dimas Ekaputra in Bandung on Friday, November 2, 2018, through the publication of the Provincial Government of West Java Public Relations and public relations of BIJB Kertajati, received by Pikiran Rakyat, Saturday, November 3, 2018.

The routes served are the airport of Kertajati – the airport of Juanda (SUB) and vice versa every day.

The first commercial flight to the city of Medan will begin testing three times a week, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, on a round trip flight. The flights are not carried out every day for the initial phase, this is intended to know the market demand in both regions.

"This is not every day for the initial phase because we want to see the market demand. But in terms of research, we recommend Kertajati Kualanamu. We have talked with the airlines, Citilink's is congratulated for this proposal, "said Virda.

The interests

He believes that this route will be of interest to the community because, depending on flight requirements, services to Medan are quite important for the Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan (Ciayumajakuning) areas included in the catchment area. Besides Medan, other interior routes such as Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Makbadar and Jakarta are still under study, so flights departing from Kertajati Airport may be more attractive.

"Because our goal until the end of this year is to be able to serve 14 national and international direct links," Virda explained.

To reach the western and central regions of Indonesia, TransNusa national airlines have requested commercial flights with the use of ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft. TransNusa will begin flights between Kertajati and Bandar Lampung (TKG) and Semarang (SRG) on Sunday 11 November 2018.

As for the route of international flights, it was marked by the opening of a direct flight to Kertajati – Madinah by Airline Lion Air on October 13, 2018, which was released by the governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. Flights to transport pilgrims from the Umrah with Boeing 737 max 8 aircraft are made once a week. ***
