JawaPos.com – The fate of the airline Merpati Nusantara Airlines will remain suspended for up to 45 days. Originally, Friday (July 20th), the fate of Merpati was determined by the hearing of the Debt Payment Period (PKPU).

The Managing Director of Asset Management Company (PPA) Henry Sitohang said that Merpati still needed more time to prepare his peace proposal.

"Merpati still needs more time to prepare peace proposals," Henry told Jawapos.com on Saturday (21/7).

Currently Merpati has recorded a debt of Rp 10.7 billion. Because of this condition, a Merpati from flying again becomes difficult. Before being judged, he proposed Merpati to a number of interested investors. This offer was opened by PPA through advertisements in the media from April 17, 2018 to May 15, 2018.
"From the announcement, some investors have expressed interest, but from this point of view, there is the potential of most investors, domestic investors but alliances abroad," said Henry in Jakarta Saturday (26/5).

In addition, on May 25, 2018, due diligence was exercised to determine which investor is the most appropriate. Henry said in the process that PPA and Merpati have appointed independent consultants or voting partners. Then on June 8, 2018 was determined the potential winner by a voting partner.

It would appear that the proposals of the selected investors will be submitted to the PKPU hearing on July 20, 2018. But it was delayed until early September 2018. Henry stated that the delay in the Audience has not changed the decision of potential investors.

"Oh no (the investor does not change), it takes time to prepare a proposal that can accommodate all stakeholders," he concluded.
