According to the President, Indonesian businessmen must also expand their market by entering non-traditional markets with little cultivation.
He mentioned several areas offering opportunities, including South Asia, Russia, the African continent, the Middle East, Turkey, Pakistan and South America.
"I hope this will be resolved so that our exports actually increase and that there is a trade surplus," said the president.
The president also recalled that the world was entering the 4.0 industrial revolution that is evolving more rapidly.
A number of technologies such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things, virtual reality and advanced robotics are nowadays used to help the public and the industry.
"If we do not want to be left behind, yes, we have to change quickly," said Jokowi.
The theme of the 33rd edition of the TEI, which lasted five days, was "Creating Products for Global Opportunities".
The head of state also awarded the Primaniyarta Prize, as well as the Primaduta Prize.
The president wore brown batik clothes and arrived in the ICE room around 9.30am.
The president was accompanied by Minister of Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, head of the Triawan Munaf Creative Economy Agency, and KADIN President Rosan Roeslani. , and the governor of Banten, Wahidin Halim.
A number of ambbadadors from country friends and businessmen were also present at the event.
