REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR – Former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has confirmed his new position as a parliamentary opposition. Princess Nooryana Najwa said that the position is a new experience rather than a "decline".
"Today will be the first time in the history of our country (Malaysia) that a former prime minister sits in the opposition bloc," Nooryana Najwa said. The Star on Tuesday (17/7)
Nooryana is badured that his father would always be willing to solve problems, share his knowledge and expertise. As a member of the opposition, his father will continue to give everything for the welfare of all Malaysians.
"That Allah removes obstacles in the path of my father and his friends in the future," he added
. Parliament Monday (16/7), Najib is determined to continue to speak on behalf of the people. He resigned as president of Barisan Nasional and President UMNO after the coalition lost the elections on May 9.
"It is the intention of the opposition and I speak for the people and demands the Hope of Hope to honor the promises of the manifesto." Said Najib .
The joint alliance of the Pakatan Harapan party led by Mahathir Mohamad won the Malaysian elections in May. Mahathir defeated Najib Razak overshadowed by the scandal of state investment financing, 1MDB.
