Russian diplomats call on their country to prepare for a fight

At the meeting, US diplomats said the country's "red bear" was preparing to fight, Belousov said.

"Yes, I can confirm that we are currently preparing to face the war," Belousov said.

He said that Russia's policy of manufacturing weapons and organizing military training was a form of will to defend the country.

"We are preparing to protect the country, our territory with integrity, principles, values ​​and our people," said Belousov.

He continued, Moscow would not seek confrontation. He questioned why the United States had refused the UN draft resolution or intended to leave the INF.

"At the moment, I see that the Russian Federation is preparing to fight, the United States is preparing for war," he said. Radio Free Europe.

He claimed not to understand the attitude of other European countries such as Britain, Germany and France, which also rejected the draft resolution.

The reason he saw the country was a supporter of INF. "To be honest, I do not understand their position at the moment," he complains.

The attitude of the state, continued Belousov, would make the world a dangerous place and promised Russia to take retaliatory measures.

Earlier last Saturday (20/10/2018), US President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw the US from the INF.

Under the agreement, the two countries are not allowed to manufacture explosive nuclear missiles ranging from 500 to 5,500 kilometers.

Trump accused Moscow of committing a violation by launching the missile 9M729, considered capable of reaching a distance of more than 500 kilometers.

Trump also announced plans to leave the INF because the agreement also did not include China, called "long-range ballistic missile development".
