Houthi militants fired two Saudi oilers in the Strait of El-Mandeb
REPUBLICA.CO.ID, RIYADH – Saudi Arabia announced Wednesday the cessation of any crude oil shipment by Mandeb. The decision to close the strait was made in response to a Syrian Yemen-Al-Houthi rebel attack against two giant Saudi oilers crossing the strait on the Red Sea on Wednesday morning (25 July).
Minister of Energy Resources, Industry and Minerals of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Falih, said that the attack had caused minor damage to one of the tankers. "This ban will continue until the safety of the cruise through the El Mandeb Strait can be guaranteed," he told Al-Arabiya TV channel
