This suicide bombing took place few hours before the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif returned from London with her daughter Maryam to face a 10-year sentence for corruption.


Sharif was overthrown by the Supreme Court last year and was sentenced in absentia for a week of corruption cases. Sharif arrived in Pakistan to join his party before the July 25 general election.

Baluchistan Interior Minister Agha Omer Bangulzai told Reuters that the death toll has increased to 128, with more than 150 (19659006) The police officer Senior Qaim Lashari said earlier that more than 1,000 people attended the event.

Among those killed in the Friday attack were the candidate of the Baluchistan Provincial Assembly, Siraj Raisani. Siraj's brother, Nawab Aslam Raisani, was chief minister of the province from 2008 to 2013.

"My brother Siraj Raisani was a victim," said one of the victim's relatives, Lashkari Raisani AMAQ stated that a group of Islamic states in the region claims responsibility for the attack. However, this group does not provide more details or evidence for its claim.

As is well known, Islamic militants linked to the Taliban, al-Qaeda and Islamic states operate in Baluchistan province, Pakistan. This region is bordered by both Iran and Afghanistan.
