The construction of Kediri airport is still limited by licenses

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Minister of Transport (Menhub), Budi Karya Sumadi, ensures that the construction of Kediri airport remains subject to licensing restrictions. Therefore, construction can only be carried out at the beginning of 2019.

"Today, 85% of the pre-construction works have been solved because they still solve administrative problems, including land-use planning and land acquisition," said Budi Karya. Office of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Jakarta, Friday (19/10/2018).

It targets all licensing processes from the Regional Space Plan (RTRW) and the General Space Plan (RUTR) which are to be completed within one to two months.

Regarding the land acquisition, Budi Karya said to have completed about 70% of the work. The remaining 30% will be accelerated by the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

"Barriers to land acquisition are usually the price.Yes, if you look at the progress, the fastest is revolutionary at the latest in six months.The fastest," added Budi Karya.

In August, Gudang Garam Istata's director, Taswin Siddharta, said he set the figure between Rs. 1 trillion to Rs. 10 trillion for the construction of an airport in Kediri. Until now, the new budget released by Gidang Garam is about Rs 1,000 trillion.

However, Gudang Garam has not been able to predict how much the budget will be spent until the end of 2018. Istata also has no goal set when the construction of the Airport is over.

"If you want to be realistic, it can not be one or two years," said Istata. Istata said that, all along, the government had fully supported the obstacles. Until now, it can not be determined if Gudang Garam will retain other investors in the construction of the airport.
