Jember (ANTARA News) – Foreign Minister Rini Soemarno visited the group of coffee producers in Gunung Gumitir, Sidomulyo Village, in the sub-district of Silo, Jember District, East Java to support the improving the well-being of farmers. ]

In his working visit, Rini was accompanied by PTPN XII President Berlino Mahendra Santosa, Chief Executive Officer of PT Bank BNI Tbk (Persero) Achmad Baiquni, Chief Executive Officer of BTN Bank Maryono and Four Deputy Minister of Public Enterprises (BUMN) looking closely at the coffee plantation

Thanks to the synergy, coffee producers badisted by PTPN XII receive funding through the Business Credit Program (KUR) and Partnership Program (KP). BNI.

While PTPN XII as coach of the people's coffee producers ensures the cultivation of coffee from the breeding, maintenance and ensures that farmers make a good coffee culture, as well to maintain coffee production while maintaining environmental sustainability. On the other hand, farmers' level of agricultural security can continue to improve with the growth of coffee growers.

"With easy access to financing, access to markets and access to good training in coffee growing, I'm sure the productivity and quality of people's coffee will increase" said Rini.

In addition, farmers are also trained to be a reliable barista (peracik kopi).

"I am pleased that in addition to the empowerment program, the price of coffee purchased is also the price that benefits farmers," Rini said.

In order to facilitate access to financing for coffee producers in East Java, BNI has financed 1,577 small-scale coffee producers with a total funding portfolio of Rp 12.8 billion. KUR BNI funding is granted to 559 farmers for a total funding of 5.2 billion rupiahs and a partnership program of 7.6 billion rupiahs for 1018 farmers.

KUR funding is made directly to each farmer in three regencies in East Java namely Banyuwangi Regency, Jember Regency and Malang Regency.

The partnership program was distributed to 109 farmer groups in Banyuwangi and Jember districts.
