1. Caffeine Dependence

2. Lowering the absorption of iron
Tannin, a chemical compound present in tea, would affect the absorption capacity of iron by the body if it is consumed in large quantities. A report from the State University of Colorado says that tea can reduce a person's ability to absorb iron up to 60%. For those who are vegetarians, who do not consume a lot of iron, drinking too much tea can increase their risk of iron deficiency.
