Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the domestic auto industry has been able to produce 185 types of components or the equivalent of 70 percent TKDN.

"Through consolidation with domestic industry players, we are building a commitment of cooperation with more than 70 industries ready to become AMMDes component suppliers, which are mostly small and medium-sized industries," Airlangga said in an official statement. .


To develop AMMDes, the government will cooperate with PT Kiat Mahesa Wintor Indonesia (KMWI). AMMDes is currently entering the final phase of the prototype.

Mbad production is expected to begin in January 2019.

"The field trials of AMMDes were conducted in the Bogor region in early April 2018 and are still under way," he said.

The tests performed include the performance and durability of the partial unit that includes the engine, chbadis, suspension, transmission and others.

Later, KMWI also plans to prepare several AMMDes platform designs through the development of the powertrain and chbadis. For example for vehicles that will be applied in the plains and hills with a slope of 20-300 using a diesel engine and diesel.

In addition, Airlangga ensures that this car will debut in the event Gaikindo Indonesia International (GIIAS) in August 2018.
