Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of EPiC Creative + Design, Erika Pryor is joining Denison University as one of three new Global Business Executive Residency in fall 2021. Pryor brings her application-based approach to the world. learning liberal arts while increasing opportunities for students and faculty to engage diverse executives with in-depth industry knowledge and specialization.

Pryor spent four years at Denison University as an assistant professor in the Department of Communication. Thinking back on her time here, she says, “What I enjoyed most were the relationships I formed, many of which have lasted.

After his tenure at Denison, Pryor developed a thriving career specializing in content marketing and strategy. His experiences include working with McGraw Hill Education on the national marketing team; join JobsOhio to develop statewide and international campaigns to attract new businesses and drive job growth in Ohio; and working with Ohio State University, University Libraries providing a content strategy for a complete website redesign on a system of 11 libraries.

Pryor also worked in Columbus and Cincinnati as the community director of Venture For America, founded by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang. In this role, she has helped recent university graduates launch their careers in startups, emerging companies and innovation centers.

Pryor’s company, EPiC Creative + Design, partners with small businesses, startups, entrepreneur support organizations, and corporate brands to provide marketing director and creative services. This approach provides agile business access to a team of knowledgeable marketing and creative professionals without incurring the expense of hiring a full-time marketing director or team. “Teaching and learning are at the heart of what we do. So when Jane [Palmer] contacted me to re-engage with Denison somehow, curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to know more, ”said Pryor. Palmer said that “in 2021 there is a growing craze at the University for experiential and applied learning.”

Pryor’s full residency for the fall semester includes fireside chats, hands-on workshops, and open office hours to engage with students and faculty. Additionally, EPiC Creative + Design will serve as an intern placement site, working with up to four student interns during the semester.

“I have always been a strong advocate for internships and experiential learning. When I transitioned from DU, I did an internship in a startup. This is how I became addicted to the enthusiasm of content marketing and how I learned to translate my doctoral learning into high impact marketable skills. explained Pryor.
