Inside the launch of SpaceX Moon that makes history

Thursday night, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the very first private mission on the moon. The $ 100 million mission is led by SpaceIL, a non-profit organization based in Israel. The company designed and built the lunar lander of 1,322 pounds called "Beresheet", which means "in the beginning" (the first words of the Bible).

Beresheet – which is equipped with cameras, magnetic sensors and transmitters to relay data to and from Earth – was launched Thursday at the top of a Falcon 9 rocket in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

SpaceIL started as a Google Lunar XPrize team and is supported by South African billionaire Morris Kahn. If the Beresheet mission survives after a trip of several weeks to the lunar surface, it will make Israel the fourth country to have ever made a moon landing.
