Instagram makes itself more accessible to the visually impaired in two ways. The first is based on Instagram users to add a detailed description of the content of their photos. The second uses artificial intelligence to describe the content of photos.
The first method is custom alternative text, which relies on adding user descriptions. Anyone using a screen reader will be able to hear this description when viewing the photo, which will help them see the photo through the chosen words.

You can add alternative text to an Instagram photo when creating a new message. Just click on "Advanced Settings" at the bottom of the page. Then click on "Write an alternative text". Then write a detailed description where you paint an image with words.
The second method is Auto Alternate Text, which uses object recognition technology to describe the content of the viewed photos. This is supposed to be backup when people do not add their own alternative text.
Everyone benefits from the Internet
Instagram should be applauded for this initiative, even though it took years to implement such a feature. As the world moves more and more online, it's important that we, the technology companies and the people who use their services, leave no one behind.
