Intel to open three Open Project Athena labs to test new generation laptops

Intel is opening three labs in Taipei, Taiwan, Shanghai, China and Folsom, Calif., To test suppliers' notebook components and ensure they meet Athena specifications. The technology giant announced for the first time the Athena project at CES earlier this year with the intention of developing a new class of thin laptops with 20-hour battery life, 5G connectivity and the ability to use AI technologies to improve productivity. "The Athena Open Labs project," he says, "will be the first step in preparing for the next wave of Athena project designs for 2020 and beyond."
