Interview with Jensen Huang – "The basics of the game are perfect, fantastic"

GamesBeat: It seems that in some ways, if it's not something, like crypto-anxiety, it's another, with the hyperscale break. How do you look at this?

Jensen Huang: We are delighted to have first regained growth. After the last T4 and Q1, I am delighted to regain growth. The hyperscale break is omnipresent. Everyone experiences it. GamesBeat: It seems like a lot of things are happening in the game right now. Transitions are in progress, for example when the PlayStation 5 is considered. The switch is going strong. The computer market is going strong. You said that China is going strong too.

Huang: It was probably always going to happen. It was just pretty opaque for us at T4 and Q1 because we had a little more inventory in the channel. But I think the basics of the game are very good, just fantastic. You know. I am very pleased that raytracing is becoming the norm for next-generation games. Microsoft DXR, Unity, Unreal Engine, Frostbite at EA, all engines jump on ray tracing. We move on to the next generation. You call him. The game is just vibrating.

GamesBeat: Is the possibility of a trade war with China one of the concerns?

Huang: Wars are never good. But the important thing about the tariff is that the vast majority of our manufacturing, as you know, is done outside of this region. He is not affected. From our point of view, the direct impact is relatively small. But hopefully the negotiators will find a quick solution to the tariff dispute and we will return to the growing companies in Asia.

Thank you for asking about the break. We seem to have the impression that the pause on the scale of scales will last forever, but that is not the case. It will pass. For the second quarter, this created a little more uncertainty and we therefore guided in this direction.

GamesBeat: I'm starting to hear more and more stories about AI help games. Do you see some examples of this yourself?

Huang: We do. We will use AI for, of course, the generation of terrain. We will use the AI ​​for animation, character animation. We will use artificial intelligence for the animation of the environment: clouds, water, leaves, fire, explosions. We will use artificial intelligence for the understanding of natural language and speech recognition, in conversation with our digital avatars. We will use artificial intelligence to improve the image using technology such as DLSS. We will use artificial intelligence in many places. That's why we have a tensor core in our calculation.
