Apple publishes today iOS 12.2 beta 3 for iPhone and iPad. The latest beta update should be broadcast live at the beginning of the hour. Apple will also release beta versions of watchOS 5.2 and tvOS 12.2 today. macOS 10.14.4 beta 3 landed yesterday. We will update our coverage if significant changes are discovered in the latest software updates. The update is expected to restore FaceTime group calls for beta testers from iOS 12.2 after the official release of iOS 12.1.4 earlier this month to resolve a privacy bug.
iOS 12.2 and the associated software updates focus primarily on the support of smart TVs running with the personal Apple app. Other changes include the new Animoji characters, including the new shark, owl, giraffe and warthog options, as well as some additional modifications.
iOS 12.2 beta 2 also includes changes to the AirPlay icon in the Control Center and the '5G E' of AT & T in some markets for some iPhones and iPads. iOS 12.2 also introduces a variety of other changes and features, as in the previous beta:
- New Screen Mirroring icon in the Control Center
- New full-screen interface Apple TV Remote Control Center
- New "Speakers and TVs" in the settings of the personal application
- More detailed Apple Wallet user interface for recent transactions
- Button details updated in the UI of the wallet card
- Tap a transaction for more details
- The details of the map include rows of inlaid rectangles
- Motion & Orientation Data is the new Safari toggle in the iOS settings.
- Reading the air quality index in the maps
- Safari warns against websites that do not support HTTPS
- Fill out a search suggestion without submitting a search
- Apple News in Canada
- Keyboard color selector
- Safari Online Music Play
- Search results for full song of album name in the Music app
