As a complementary model of the KTM 690 Duke, the KTM 790 Duke 2018, also known as "The Scalpel," was presented to Malaysian media at a preview at the KTM showroom in Kota Damansara, Selangor. At a price of RMB 64,800, not counting the GST, the road tax, insurance and registration, the 790 Duke is equipped with a brand new engine and a technology of point.

The new engine is a twin-twin twin-displacement engine that delivers 799 cc and produces 105 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 87 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Fuel is routed via a Dell Ork DKK throttle body of 42mm diameter and the power drops to the ground via a six-speed gearbox.

Power is modulated by KTM Power Power badisted clutch. the gear selector shaft. The scalpel instrument screen is TFT-LCD with a full range of driving aids.

The driving electronics includes traction control, anti-slip regulation and ABS cornering, which KTM calls stability control. The dual-channel ABS is standard with Supermoto mode to lock the rear wheel with the front wheel still under control.

Available for the driver are the rain, street and sport driving modes with anti-wheeling control, and an additional mode race. Switching to Race Mode offers faster response, nine-level traction control and anti-wheeling mode at the rider's discretion.

The front brakes are the own brand of KTM, manufactured in Spain by J.Juan, 300 mm diameter discs. install four-piston calipers, activated by a radial cylinder. The rear brake is a single 240mm two-piston fixed caliper

WP Suspension supplies the 43mm diameter inverted non-adjustable forks, with the right fork for rebound and the left fork for the compression. The travel of the fork is 140 mm, with a non-adjustable steering damper located behind the lower triple gripper.

The rear mono-damper is gas-badisted, WP Suspension, and only adjustable for preloading. The wet weight is 174 kg and the fuel is transported in a 14 liter steel tank.

The seat is set to 825 mm standard with an 805 mm low seat and an optional 780 mm chbadis lower kit at KTM Powerparts. Shifting is a switchable race pattern without additional parts.

The 790 Duke comes with a 760 mm wide three-position handlebar coupled with four-position adjustable attachments. The 2018 KTM 790 Duke is intended for insertion above and to be sold alongside the Duke 690 Single Cylinder and is available immediately from authorized KTM Malaysia Dealers.
