Sony Pictures has moved Quentin Tarantino "Once upon a time in Hollywood" as of July 26, 2019 – perhaps avoiding controversy over the release of the film on the 50th anniversary of the murders by Charles Manson's followers.

The studio had originally announced that it will be released "Once upon a time" two weeks later, August 9, 2019. This will be the 50th anniversary of the murders of actress Sharon Tate and four others in a house on Cielo Drive in the Hollywood Hills.

Sony announced the date change on Wednesday, but gave no reason to do so. The film takes place in the context of the murders with Leonardo DiCaprio playing Rick Dalton, former star of a Western television series, while Brad Pitt will play his long-time double lining, Cliff Booth.

The cast also includes Margot Robbie, Timothy Olyphant Luke Perry, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond.

At the Sony Pictures CinemaCon presentation in April, Tarantino said DiCaprio and Pitt would be "the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford."

"It takes place at the height of the counterculture explosion," Tarantino said. "It takes place at the time of the hippie revolution, and it takes place at the height of the new Hollywood."

He added that the film will be the most similar in style and plotting his 1994 masterpiece, "Pulp Fiction."

Sony made this announcement as part of the disclosure of the dates of release for his "Zombieland 2" recently announced on October 11, 2019; "Little Women" on December 25, 2019; and "Bloodshot" by Vin Diesel on February 21, 2020. The studio also advanced the release of "Slender Man" from August 24 to August 10 and fell from "Searching" from August 3 to August 24. [19659002] Sony announced on July 13 that it had badembled the cast of "Zombieland" with Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin signing to resume their roles in the sequel.

Variety reported on June 29 that Greta Gerwig watched "Little Women" as her next concert with Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet attached to the star.
