Bruce Willis says "Die Hard" is not a Christmas movie

During a recording of The Comedy Central Roast by Bruce Willis over the weekend, Die Hard star and man of the hour took a tough stance by stating that the film is ] not a Christmas movie. Released in 1988, Die Hard being a Christmas film has become a point of contention between fans over the years thanks to its action-thriller nature and Christmas setting.

Die Hard is interested in the character of Willis, John McClane, an NYPD officer who visits his wife in Los Angeles. While she was attending a Christmas party at her office in Nakatomi Plaza, McClane is forced to act after German terrorists, led by Alan Rickman's iconic Hans Gruber, take her Take hold of the building. The tone and intrigue of the non-holidays badociated with the bright Christmas setting have sparked much debate online about whether the film itself is a Christmas film. Some supporters claim that not only does he qualify for the category, but he is actually among the best.

A report from IndieWire suggests that he went even further by doubling with "It's a Bruce Willis movie!" Asked after the show about how he thought his fans might react, Willis only replied, "We'll see."
