James McClean will be the Stoke City player at the end of the week after the Republican winger completes a medical exam on Friday
The Derryman played 30 games in the last campaign West Bromwich Albion.
A statement on Stoke's website said: "Stoke City can confirm that James McClean has undergone a medical examination at Clayton Wood and is waiting to finish his signature over the weekend. [19659015] McClean, 29, did not hide his desire to join his team relegated to the Potters, having been prevented from leaving the Hawthorns in the middle of last season.
McClean missed training with the Baggies and was disciplined by the club for "failing to report without permission and will now face internal disciplinary procedures."
