A "Frasier" reboot occurs and fans on Twitter have a lot of mixed feelings

Discarded salads and scrambled eggs may be recalled. A little over 14 years after Dr. Frasier Crane, radio psychiatrist of the "adorable snooty goal" radio, announced his last wish in Seattle, a restart of Frasier is in preparation, Deadline reported on Wednesday July 25th. Kelsey Grammer, the star and executive producer of NBC's 90s comedy, is interested in creating a new series Frasier. (Bustle reached out to Grammer representative and Paramount Network for comment, but received no response.)

Per Deadline, a possible new incarnation of the 11-season show, 1993 to 2004, will follow slightly different script from recent show renewals like NBC Will & Grace ABC Roseanne and the return of Murphy Brown on CBS. Instead, " Frasier is envisioned as a reboot, probably in a new city, with the title character, played by Grammer, as a possible link to the 1993 series that won the Emmy."

Remember, Frasier – a spin-off of NBC Cheers – concluded with the suggestion that Dr. Crane moved to Chicago to be with his love Charlotte, played by Laura Linney, who won an outstanding guest actress in an Emmy comedy series in 2004. Could the new series follow the connoisseur of opera wine in Chi-Town? This could certainly be a possibility.

While the reappearance of Niles (David Hyde Pierce), Daphne (Jane Leeves) and Roz (Peri Gilpin) seems uncertain, the new series would definitely be absent from Frasier's beloved father, Martin Crane, played by the death of John Mahoney, who died at the age of 77 in February

Before the death of Mahoney, the cast of Frasier had discussed a meeting, according to Entertainment Weekly . "Certainly, people who were in favor of the idea liked the idea that John was part of it because it represented so much the balance of the show," said producer Christopher Lloyd EW . "You have these two stifled intellectuals and a common man dyed in wool. That provided so much balance in the show that it would be so a bit difficult to do without it."

Yet Lloyd said that he believed that Mahoney would have wanted the show to continue without Marty and his iconic reclining chair recliner. (Although fans expect them to at least pour a Valentine's can for Patriarch Crane at McGinty.)

"John was such a generous soul," Lloyd added at EW . "He would be the first person to say," Of course, you should go ahead and do it. "Even though he appeared before [his pbading] he would be the first to root everyone."

As with any piece of nostalgia, fans have strong opinions about the revival of the iconic series. While many people are already filling their Sherry celebration glbades, and some seem a little confused, others may already smell the blues a-callin '.

While a Twitter user called it the best news I've heard for a long time, "in other cases, l & rsquo; Fans excited about the restart Frasier the news could only be expressed via GIFs.

Some fans implored Grammer not to play with perfection with a joking user, "You might as well try to restart the Sistine Chapel."

Playful reference to "Frasier Crane's Nightmare Inn" of Season 4, another user pondered why we can not leave the original alone .

Many comments have mentioned the absence of Marty Crane from Mahoney. A fan of Frasier says to adore this show but, "Without John Mahoney, I do not see the interest." Another went so far as to joke that anyone who proposed a restart "without John Mahoney should definitely be tried at the very least." A third user said that it would only be up to edge "if it is Daphne trying to communicate with the ghost of John Mahoney".

A fan on Twitter thought that the plot might be too predictable : "Frasier returns to Seattle yada yada yada host podcast, son is now a jock, yada yada yada"

To combat any threat of predictability, other fans have had their own plot suggestions however. Examples included Frederick the son of Frasier, having to take care of his sick father, the show taking place in Austin Frasier having a podcast and spending his days in reply to YouTube trolls.

Whether or not there is a restart of Frasier it is an exciting prospect for fans to debate at La Frasier and Niles on a cappuccino from Café Nervosa.
