Maurizio Sarri extended his Premier League league unbeaten record to a record 12 games while Chelsea was frustrated with a bad mood against Everton.

The Italian is undefeated in a competitive match at Chelsea, but has to wonder how his team missed a ninth league win while Jordan Pickford stopped Marcos Alonso, Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard from scoring.

The referee Kevin Friend has distributed seven yellow cards in a tetchy match, two following an incident between Bernard and Antonio Rudiger.

The difference in height of one foot and Rudiger's amateur drama might have helped Bernard to run away with a reservation for nodding to the defender.

Jorginho and Alonso could also be considered fortunate for avoiding a harsher punishment for the challenges that hit the ankles of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott, respectively.

Frank Clark was undefeated in 11 Premier League matches with Nottingham Forest from August to October 1994; A month later, it is Everton's last win at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors began their quest for a first victory at Chelsea in 24 years. Bernard was shooting from a distance and the intensity of the press was disturbing the Blues.

Hazard was blamed by Yerry Mina, who became the first of five bookings in the first period. Alonso curled the resulting free kick just wide.

Jorginho was beaten by Sigurdsson after a rare loss of control from the Italian midfielder, before Golo Kante was registered for a tough challenge on Richarlison.

Alonso then caught Walcott in front of the visitors' canoe, but there was no punishment.

Andre Gomes grabbed Hazard from behind after 39 minutes, leading to the first shot on goal.

Willian took a free kick on the left side of the box and found Alonso, who shot a gentle volley at Pickford.

Morata did not like this physical presence, but Lucas Digne was a close witness to the area.

Rudiger then blamed Bernard for coming down too easily.

As his friend ran away to continue playing, Bernard stood up and waved his head at the 6-foot-3 defender, who ducked his head and turned around.

It was unclear whether the resulting warnings related to the incident or the distractions that followed.

Eleven seconds after the restart, Pickford rescued Everton again as Morata tried to put Hazard's center at the far post.

Ross Barkley, named substitute against his former club, was mocked when he went to warm up in front of the visiting fans and was described as greedy. He applauded in response.

Everton had chances. Kepa Arrizabalaga rescued a reader from Sigurdsson and the resulting corner was removed from Rudiger's hand. Everton's penalties were in vain.

Bernard missed the best opportunity, without being able to control a Sigurdsson center at the last post.

Chelsea countered. Hazard released Willian with a good pbad, but the Brazilian opened the goal.

Pickford was rescued twice from Hazard, the second after a Mina bypbad, before Alonso knocked on the outside of the second post.

Morata had a strike excluded from offside and was later booked for dissent during a break in the game.

Barkley replaced Mateo Kovacic nine minutes from the end, to face his football club for the first time, but no dramatic conclusion was expected.
