Conor McGregor revealed that he is very close to confirming his return to the octagon of the UFC, with a fight scheduled for later this year in Las Vegas.

Dubliner McGregor has not fought at the UFC since his victory against Eddie Alvarez in November 2016, with his lucrative boxing match against Floyd Mayweather last year his last sports match.

McGregor avoided a prison sentence last week after pleading guilty of disorderly conduct for his role in an April fray with his UFC rivals, and discussions about his return to the sport have intensified amid suggestions that a confrontation with his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov is being discussed.

"When asked when he was expecting to fight at some point in 2018, he replied," I believe it, I hope so.

Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov's director, Ali Abdelaziz, told MMA Fighting that his client was expecting a big payday he had to enter the Octagon with McGregor. . .

"We are going to make a deal," said Abdelaziz. "I will not play too much with my hand and they must be honest … Nate Diaz can make more money than Khabib … Nurmagomedov is the undefeated and undisputed lightweight champion of the world. . "
