Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford Will Face Clare In The Quarters Ireland's finals, after Conor McDonald's second-half goal relegated him past Westmeath.

There were perfect conditions to pitch at Cusack Park in Mullingar, but the two teams split in the first half, where Wexford took a lead of 1-12 to 0-8

At the half-time, Wexford allowed Wexford to return to the game in the second half.

McDonald found the net in the second half and Westmeath scored a comeback.

Wexford was not great here, but their bench seemed solid and they are ready for a tilt against the finalists defeated by Munster.

A week after losing 2-26 to 1-14 against Carlow in the Joe End McDonagh Cup Westmeath had a good start and Allan Devine scored first two free times.

Rory O 'Connor was rested after his midweek exploits with the Wexford U-21, but Conor McDonald and Lee Chin (free) level after six minutes.

Westmeath had the breeze in the back Half of the session ended in a defeat for the first time in the seventh minute when Paul Morris scored. Derek McNicholas equalized again but Wexford led from the tenth minute.

Paddy Carroll foiled three attempts by Dunne, Kevin Foley and Matthew O. Hanlon. But Dunne's scored the decisive goal in the 27th minute when Aidan Nolan provided help.

Jack O 'Connor scored the last half point and that meant a 1-12 lead to 0-8 for Wexford at halftime.

Westmeath made his comeback after the interval but McDonald stopped that when he finished a goal after a pbad from Liam Óg McGovern in the 46th minute.
