Ducati, the Italian superbike manufacturer based in Bologna, is always preparing something special for each edition of EICMA, the world's largest two-wheeled show in Italy. For the 2018 edition in progress, Ducati has proven itself by offering the most powerful production bike of all time (let's forget electric vehicles for the moment), the Panigale V4 R.
The Panigale V4 R is a purely legal WSBK racing bike and is the technical foundation of the official Ducati Superbikes that will compete in the World Championship starting in the 2019 season.
Ducati experts have replaced the 1,104cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine (in Panigale V4 and V4 S) with a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine to meet the WSBK regulations in the V4 R.
The former is designed to deliver smooth power and excellent low-end pull for optimal road use, while the 998cc engine reduces the new V4 R to deliver more extreme performance, ideal for use on the track.

Greater air intake efficiency allows for faster engine acceleration and a shift in the red zone of the engine speed to improve the 998cc engine acceleration. As a result, it develops a power of 221 hp at 15,250 rpm, or 2,250 rpm above the maximum power point of the 1103cc engine.
Before judging that the power is lower than the Kawasaki Ninja H2 which develops 231 hp from a supercharged engine, a full-race Akrazovic Ducati Performance exhaust will increase the total power of the Panigale V4 R to 234 hp at 15,500 hp / min.
In short, the Panigale is Ducati's most powerful bike ever built and also the most powerful production bike of all time.

The extreme performance is also complemented by the reduction of the empty weight up to 193 kg with lighter internal components. The Panigale V4 R is 2 kg lighter than the Panigale V4S, reducing the empty weight by only 193 kg. To put things in perspective, the KTM 390 Duke that we see from time to time on the road weighs 154 kg.
Ducati India sells the Panigale V4 at Rs 20.53 lakh while the Panigale V4 S is priced at Rs 25.29 lakh (Ex-showroom). Therefore, the Panigale V4 R should be much cheaper than Rs 30 lakh. On the other hand, the chief rival Kawasaki Ninja H2 costs Rs 34.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
