Different users prefer dark modes for different reasons. some want it because apps with darker backgrounds are easier to watch, some prefer sleek aesthetics, while others love to extend the battery backup of their smartphones. The growing demand for dark modes and the economy of AMOLED displays have persuaded developers to include a native dark mode / theme in their applications. Google, Microsoft, Twitter are among the big names who are investing their time by integrating dark modes into their applications on Android. Meanwhile, Facebook would also work on a dark mode of the Facebook application on Android.

Engineer Jane Manchun Wong, known for his reverse engineering applications that allowed her to discover the upcoming features of popular apps well before they came out, recently discovered a dark half-cooked mode in the Facebook app on Android. According to Wong, the feature is in "early stages of development"And we only see some elements take on the dark theme.

Among the parts of the Facebook application that have been rearranged with dark mode, most display dark text on a dark background, while others display plain text on a clear background, which shows that an operational version may not be available to users from so early. Wong remarks that the Groups tab seems to be better done than the other at the moment.

The development comes after Facebook has implemented a dark mode for Messenger applications last year. We have also heard of a dark mode under consideration for WhatsApp while the Look tab of the Facebook app as well as the web already offers the option of choosing a dark gray theme. It will be interesting to see how the dark mode applies to the entire Facebook application, especially since the redesigned version of the app announced at the F8 conference earlier this year is not yet available. for all users.
