Final summary of the Mayans ™ season 1: the happy return of the sons of anarchy

After EZ Reyes (JD Pardo) pbaded near a pair of crows eating a dog carcbad in the first seconds of Mayans M.C. Throughout the season, the biggest problem of EZ was to find the person or persons who killed his mother; Well, we discovered this week, and it was a doozy!

We all know that the raven is a long standing symbol of Son of anarchySAMCRO, and the dog – which was featured in the pilot – is a spiritual animal for EZ (although an elephant might be a better representative for EZ since he never forgets). Watching these crows pecking at the dead dog does not translate so subtly that SAMCRO eats at EZ, and now it makes sense.

But it was not even the craziest thing that happened to EZ in this episode. Responding to requests from Lincoln (Ray McKinnon) so that all records of his contract and his misdeeds are erased, EZ shot Kevin (Maurice Compte). And he also kidnapped Kevin's former boss, Bowen (Curtiss Cook), who was right at Kevin's for a pie lunch, for whatever reason. In case you're wondering, Lincoln is apparently a pie expert and has identified it as purchased in-store rather than homemade.

And if that was not enough, EZ ignored Angel's requests (Clayton Cardenas) asking him to leave MC's post and instead convinced Bishop (Michael Irby) to take his sponsor's place, citing a conflict. interest if his brother remained in charge of watching him. We do not know why he did it, but his departure staged a possible war between SAMCRO and the Mayans in season 2 since it would have been the one that would have broadcast any beef between the clubs because from his long relationship with the reapers.

The final accomplished a lot by flipping the table and replacing the pieces on the board. We did not have the Major the death we were waiting for (no offense to Kevin), but we had something much better: a great reason to get excited about Season 2.

Mayans M.C. has been renewed for Season 2, but FX has not announced a release date.
