The Nire, of Waterford, allowed Adare, Limerick champion, to play a leading role in their provincial quarter-final at the Gaelic Grounds.

The Nire made the majority of the damage in the first half hour with Waterford Conor Gleeson's excellent star.

Shane Walsh, Gleeson and Tholom Guiry made a good start to the Nire debut before Adare was faced with the game when Stephen Keeley opened his account but missed two scoring goals like Hugh Bourke and Robbie Bourke. hit the bar closely.

Hugh Bourke then pbaded on a free goal before Gleeson and Craig Guiry restored the three-point advantage of the Waterford champions as they began to take control. Shane Ryan scored twice before Darren Guiry and goaltender Diarmuid Murphy released the goals.
