In the opening trade of the match, the hosts almost scored the first goal of the match after Daire McDaid simply fumbled the ball within three minutes. The same player had another great chance six minutes later, but Seamus Houghton refused the Inishowen nets.
The Inishowen League, under the leadership of Diarmaid O'Brien, took the lead in the 12th minute after a free kick shot by Shaun Doherty was deflected by a Donegal defender and shaken the back of the net leaving no luck to the goals of Donegal.
That goal was short-lived, but in the next two minutes, former Finn Harps forward Kevin McHugh shot Houghton 20 yards to tie the game.
It was only 10 minutes before the interval that we saw the next goal and a goal that, in the end, was the winner of the League of Donegal match.
Daire McDaid, who plays for Kilmacrennan Celtic, gave a free kick to the right wing. His teammate Ryan Shields was able to shoot an eight-yard header.
Both teams had half the time to score in the second half, the best coming from Kevin McHugh (Donegal) in the 85th minute after a violent 20-yard strike. But in the end, the hosts were keen to take the three points against their close neighbors.
