Shane Lowry made a good start to the Canadian Open on the PGA Tour with his brother Alan who was his youngest for the first time.
Alan, who is himself an accomplished golfer, is on the sack after Shane broke his nine-year-old caddy Dermot Byrne last week. Alan will remain as a cadet for the next four weeks.
Starting on the 10th hole, Lowry made a brilliant start with a par and a birdie on the first two holes that look like Clara's man downhill.
However, the bogeys arrived on the next two holes to bring it back above normal, but two other birdies on the 16th and 18th placed it on the right track before the turn.
He made two birdies earlier in his nine back on the 2nd and 5th holes, but again two bogeys delayed his progression. He was finishing well with a birdie on the 8th, his last second hole, but the game was suspended due to bad weather before he could finish his last hole.
Lowry is currently two-under par with his last hole in the first round and the entire second round coming on Friday. The current leaders are in the club at nine under par.
Shane is about to start this second round at 13:20 (Irish time) on Friday afternoon.
