The Peugeot importer in Ireland, Gowan Distributors Limited, has announced a price freeze for diesel versions of the Peugeot 3008 SUV, the award – winning Irish car of the year 2018.

A price increase expected in January 2019, announced by the government in the 2019 budget and applicable to all new registered diesel pbadenger cars, will be absorbed by all new 3008 diesel models for the month of January 2019.

The price protection offers customers savings from € 370 on a 3008 Access 1.5 BlueHDi 130hp model, up to € 585 on a GT Automatic 2.0 BlueHDi model with 180 hp.

The announcement comes as Gowan dealers have upgraded the equipment of some versions of the 3008 SUV: the Active model now benefits from the rear pbadenger privacy pane; the Allure model boasts a phone charging plate; the GT Line model has heated seats.

Colin Sheridan, director of sales and marketing at Gowan Distributors, said: "The announcement by the 2019 budget of a 1% VRT penalty on new diesel cars has been extremely disappointing. Customers, for whom diesel powertrains are an absolute must, because of their higher mileage requirements, or even their driving pleasure, can be absolutely certain that the latest diesel technology meets diesel fuel testing. the most stringent emissions ever introduced in Europe; the modern diesel engine is extremely sophisticated and there has never been a cleaner, more efficient diesel solution. "

Mr. Sheridan added, "There is, of course, a need for choice for customers with lower annual mileage. As a brand, and as we expected, we continue to see growth in demand for the excellent Peugeot PureTech gasoline group, winner of the International Engine award in the Year category for four consecutive years, but diesel is very much alive and is in fact the only viable solution for tens of thousands of Irish customers. "

He added: "A phenomenal success in all countries since its launch: the additional equipment of certain versions, as well as the freezing of diesel prices, protecting customers from the imminent increase of the VRT in January, will certainly make the 3008 even more attractive to customers.

Elected European car of the year 2017 then Irish car of the year 2018, the Peugeot 3008 is the best selling pbadenger car of the range in Ireland. Holding 8.5% of the C-SUV segment, RRSP prices start at € 26,990 plus delivery.

Low-cost PCP financing is available during the Peugeot Drivetime program as of November 1st at 4.9%, which means that a customer can exit a Peugeot 3008 1.2 PureTech 130 hp petrol model from € 299 per month or new model 1.5 BlueHDi diesel 130 hp from € 329 per month.
