Prince George, the heir to the British throne and the eldest child of Prince William and Princess Kate, celebrates his fifth birthday on Sunday.
George spends his birthday week at Mustique for a family vacation including not only his parents and brothers and sisters, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, but also his aunt and uncle James and Pippa Matthews and his maternal grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton.
On Saturday, Kensington Palace shared a photo on Twitter of a radiant Prince George to mark his birthday and thanked "everyone for your beautiful messages".
The photograph was taken in the garden at Clarence House by Matt Porteous, following the baptism of Prince Louis. July 9th.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very happy to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness's fifth birthday tomorrow." Kensington Palace said in a statement
When George was born at St. Mary's Hospital in 2013, his birth sparked a media frenzy around the world and in the UK, where the British celebrated the birth of their new heir.
On the occasion of George's birthday, the Royal Mint issued a £ 5 (approximately $ 6.50) commemorative coin, presented to the public, with an image of Saint George, the saint boss of England and a dragon.
