Roaring Lion bravely fought to beat his old rival Saxon Warrior in the Sandown Coral-Eclipse.

The two three-year trios had Group 1 of 10 minutes and no quarter was given closing stages. Hawkbill raced Forest Ranger, but older horses had no response to the younger generation that dominated the finish.

Roaring Lion (7-4 favorite), coached by John Gosden, pbaded the pole in front of a neck under Oisin Murphy's charge of Aidan O 'Brien ridden by his son, Donnacha. A survey of the commissioners was called while the two protagonists were approaching in the last steps, but the rankings remained unchanged.

Gosden told ITV Racing: "He climbed it beautifully and very coldly. It was too far, he knew it, and he was not hurrying back.It was a very good course and I am delighted

"I thought Saxon Warrior was beautiful, so all credit goes to Aidan O. Brien [Murphy] The merit He did very well to stay as cool as him." [19659006] [ad_2]
