Is this the strangest film that still exists? In the great tradition of nostalgic reboots like Ghostbusters, Baywatch and Jumanji, it's now time for your favorite movie from the 90s to be completely reworked as an R-rated comedy. And Ryan Reynolds is attached, although it seems like he will not have a leading role.
Deadline reports that Reynolds is about to produce Stoned Alone a reimagination of the clbadic family Home Alone, replacing the 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin ) for a 20-year stoner. In a plot reminiscent of the original film, the central character finds himself alone for the holidays after missing a flight. He fills his time smoking grbad until burglars interrupt his plans, and he finds himself having to protect his house by being stoned (and paranoid). Yes, you read correctly.
Fox develops feature film from an idea of Matt Reilly, with a screenplay by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Augustine Frizzell, The Brain Behind the Next Independent Film Never Goin's Back is set to lead.
